Sensational YoVille Interior Designer Fallen Reveals Her Yo-Secrets!

This post is part of a series of interviews with creative WYID members to be posted on YoVille Lounge.
Fallen WYID, First Place Winner of ‘Best Holiday Ice Palace Room’(2009),‘Best Beach Party’(2010), and ’Best V-Day or Anti V-Day Room’(2010) official YoVille.com contests. Who inspires Fallen? What would she choose as the next YoVille theme? And what tips and tricks does she have to share with us? Enjoy this short interview after the link.
YVL Jil WYID: Fallen what is your creative process and how do you prepare a room before you start?
Fallen WYID: When I begin, I first clear out the room and change the walls and floor to black. Then I place windows until I get a design or shape I like, decide what color the room is going be, and after that place large furnishing, like couches and furniture (Its great now because you can try before you buy ,lol) Rugs would go next, and this is usually the time I would add another level to my room. When I get to this stage the rest is easy for me, I just add a few bits and pieces in the right places to make the room look fuller.
First Place ‘Best Beach Party’ (2010) Official YoVille Contest.
YVL Jil WYID: Where to you get your inspiration from? And who or what inspires you?
Fallen WYID: This may sound funny but a lot of my inspiration has come from the cartoons my kids watch, lol! I am also inspired by any contemporary or modern interior designers out there, oh, and all the awesome WYID and NYID members.
First Place ‘V-Day or Anti V-Day Room’ (2010) Official YoVille Contest.
YVL Jil WYID: Please share with our readers a few of your design tips.
Fallen WYID: I normally stick to no more than two or three colors that go well with each other. I have learned that two or three good colors in ANY room can make it really stand out, and also don’t over pack your room.Windows are great for measuring if you want a symmetric room. To work out the center of a room, I use windows of the same size and zig zag them across the room, then count until I work out the middle.
YVL Jil WYID: I have noticed that you create both ‘Room Designs’ and ‘Pictographs’ exquisitely. Most designers are stronger with either/or. Which do you prefer?
Fallen WYID: As much as I love ‘Pictographs’, personally I prefer a well designed room, but when it comes to contest time ‘Pictographs’ do a lot better simply because they stand out more.

YVL Jil WYID: In your honest opinion, what do you think about the new YoVille ‘Tycoon’ theme and what would you like to see added to it? Has it inspired any new creations?
Fallen WYID: I love the new house/boat and the costumes they have released so far, but if I’m honest am not really into the new furnishings and really hope they bring out nicer stuff to work with; large chandeliers, new pillars, etc…. When I eventually get my boat, I will be gathering inspiration from the Titanic movie as I would love to do a titanic like ship.
YVL Jil WYID: Fallen, If you could choose the next YoVille theme, what would that be? And, which type of furnishings and costumes would you offer?
Fallen WYID: If I could choose the next theme in YoVille it would have to be an ‘Under-Water’ theme with large castles, moving fish, treasures, jewels, sand banks, moving seaweed, air bubbles things like that. Costumes would have to be realistic looking mermaid, starfish, seahorse etc…
